OCEAN GROUP SELECTED FOR DATA INTENSIVE VARIABLE PRINTING NATIONAL CAMPAIGN
Ocean Group has been retained to implement a complex customer retention campaign for a national symposium in the communications and entertainment industry. The campaign targets relocating households with a pre-move correspondence and is designed to bridge the customer’s relationship between current and new provider. Eleven national companies are represented.
Ocean Group’s digital printing department is provided intensive data which is then applied to and delivers personalized text and graphics for each correspondence, making use of a combination of 26 unique one-sided and two-sided templates. The number of records ranges from 1,100 to 6,500 daily. In addition to premium quality digital printing, the materials require scoring, folding and inserting into double window envelopes, all facilitated in Ocean Group’s bindery and mailing departments. Same day turnaround is required and verified integrity is 100%.
Ocean Group’s ability to manage intensive data driven variable printing applications, combined with in-house bindery and mailing services, enables fast turnaround and was key to its selection. The symposium and individual companies have asked not to be identified.
OCEAN GROUP GOES GREENER WITH CHEMICAL FREE PRINTING PLATES
Ocean Group has switched over to printing plates that require no chemical processing. They eliminate use, storage, handling and disposal of chemicals without increasing water or electric consumption. The resulting favorable environmental impact is substantial because Ocean Group’s offset printing operation handles a large number of commercial printing jobs every year.
Image quality from the new plates remains high and consistent, allowing Ocean Group to continue providing the premium print quality its customers expect.
The switchover is the latest in a long series of green initiatives Ocean Group has undertaken over its 34 years in business, including use of soy based inks, recycled papers and power-saving equipment. Ocean Group is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified, a NGEC (National Green Energy Council) member, DEC compliant, passing 100% of inspections and meeting 100% of regulations, and GBC (Green Building Council) compliant.
